Victim Services
We represent your interest as a victim of crime.
The primary function of the District Attorney’s Office is to prosecute those who violate the criminal laws of the State of Alabama. Equally important is the protection of the public and providing assistance to victims of crime.
We view the rights of victims as one of our highest priorities.
- The Victim Assistance Program of the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office was established in an effort to provide much needed services to those traumatized by violent crime.
- As a victim of crime, you may be entitled to certain rights by law. You may also be eligible for assistance with medical or other bills related to the offense.
- Counseling may be available to you through the State if you are experiencing problems due to the trauma of the offense.
Contact the Office of Victim Assistance with any questions you have regarding your case by calling 205-325-5260 or emailing them at vso@jccal.org
